Fraxinus Excelsior Bark Extract description
_Fraxinus excelsior_ bark extract comes from a tree that is known as common ash or European ash. It’s broadly related to olive trees. While there isn’t a huge breadth of research regarding European ash’s impact on skin, what’s available is promising. Studies have found that this bark extract is rich in phenolic acids that have both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a potentially worth addition in both anti-aging and soothing skin care products. At the time of this writing, this plant extract is only found in blends where it’s combined with ingredients such as water, butylene glycol, glycerin, niacinamide, and citric acid. In these cases, the recommended use levels are 3–5%.
