Laurus Nobilis description
_Laurus nobilis_, AKA bay leaf oil, bay laurel and sweet bay, is a tree or large shrub that produces extracts and oils often utilized in the culinary, wellness and cosmetic industries for their aromatic and antioxidant properties. _Laurus nobilis_ extracts and oils are taken from the fruit, leaf, stem and roots of the plant and contain antioxidants, secondary metabolites and aromatic compounds. Some of the many fragrant compounds present in _Laurus nobilis_ include eugenol, linalool and 1,8-cineole. These fragrant compounds (especially eugenol) can cause redness, irritation and dryness. In research that included patch tests, eugenol caused sensitization in skin even in low concentrations (below 1%).
